Dr. Phillip Jackson
Dr. Phillip E. Jackson, FACHE is lead faculty/facilitator in the School of Public Health Sciences and Professions at Ohio University. He currently serves as President, Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC. Prior to his current role, Dr. Jackson served as Chief Executive Officer for Erlanger East and North Hospitals in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Dr. Jackson earned a BBA from National University in San Diego, California and a MSM in Finance from the Graduate School of Business and Public Policy, Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He earned his Doctorate of Strategic Leadership from the School of Business and Leadership, Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
A military veteran, Dr. Jackson served 30 years as a naval officer and senior health care executive in Department of Defense hospitals worldwide. His professional experiences also include several years as a senior human resources executive, financial manager, and senior program/budget analyst for Navy Medicine corporate headquarters and the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs). He has taught a range of health care management, leadership, finance, accounting, and business courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
Dr. Jackson is board certified in health care management and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), Professional in the Academy for Healthcare Management (PAHM), and Member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
