Adam Moyer, Ph.D.
Dr. Adam Moyer is a faculty member in the Analytics and Information Systems Department at Ohio University. His career started back in the early 80’s with a Commodore 64 and a need to modify a computer program. Early on, he managed a nonprofit BBS (bulletin-board system) and was a devoted swimmer and mountain biker until a diving accident resulted in a broken neck. During the long recovery (which involved extensive reading, learning to play piano and further studies into information and database systems) technical consulting became an obvious choice and Adam has been in the “computer business” ever since. After receiving a BBA from Ohio University in the 90’s, he worked as a systems engineer and consultant for many companies. Upon returning to Ohio University in 2001, he held various technical roles for over a decade, obtained a MS in Industrial & Systems Engineering and taught MIS classes for many years. After taking an extended sabbatical to work with the counterintelligence community, he returned to continue teaching in our AIS program and pursue a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Systems Engineering.
